My Story
My name is Naomi, I am a qualified and experienced animal trainer and behaviourist with over 20 years experience in the animal care industry. I spent much of my career working in rescue and rehoming, including Battersea Dogs and Cats home, RSPCA and Dogs Trust, giving me the opportunity to work with a huge variety of dogs, people and training needs! I studied companion animal welfare and behavioural rehabilitation at Bristol University, graduating in 2015. I aim to keep my knowledge and skills up to date by reading books, learning from my peers and colleagues and attending seminars/webinars, conferences and courses - including a week clicker training chickens to improve my practical skills!
I offer 121 training for you and your dog working through basics like loose lead walking, recall, play and confidence building. We will discuss your training goals and work on a plan together for practical sessions and homework! Each dog and owner/family are different, I will always discuss lifestyle with you as well as getting to know your dog to discover what works for them too!
Behavioural consultations are to explore and work through more complex challenges and issues which may include: separation concerns, fear and anxiety, aggression and reactivity. I will take a detailed history to get to know you, your dog and gather information on the challenges before putting a bespoke package together to assist you and your dog.
I am a positive, reward based trainer this means I will not employ or advise any harsh methods. Training techniques and methods are based in science and will always be kind and consider your dogs emotional needs and welfare. I will always take the time to discuss my recommendations with you and explain each step of any plan.
My aim is always to help you understand and communicate with your dog and to help you build a loving relationship based in trust, respect and fun!
